The Map Emblems Denote The Following:
Black colored tree emblems = trees being removed and not replaced.
Brown tree emblems = the current Honey Locust replaced with a European Hornbeam.
Purple tree emblems = the current Honey Locust replaced with a Queen Elizabeth Maple.
Blue tree emblems = current Honey Locust replaced with a new Honey Locust.
Downtown Alma Tree Removal - Replacement Plan - Map
Monthly meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Alma Municipal Building. (Meetings are subject to cancellation if no business is pressing. Please check this page for cancellation notices.)
The Alma Downtown Development Authority formed in 1996 and working with the City of Alma, serves to strengthen and support existing businesses and encourage new business opportunities in the downtown Alma Central Business District.
The DDA also works closely with the Alma Action Association to promote community activities to assist the downtown property owners and businesses in developing a viable downtown for the citizens of Alma and Gratiot County.

The DDA mission is to lead the community in the enhancement and revitalization of the downtown district by creating and implementing a development plan, to promote economic growth, and to encourage historic preservation and restoration of the historically significant buildings in the downtown and surrounding area.
