At Alma Transit Center (ATC), we’re committed to improving your experience with every ride. On December 4th, 2024, we will be transitioning to a new dispatch software that will enhance the way we serve you. We’re excited to share some important changes that will ensure smoother, more efficient service.
1. Payment Requirement for Rides
Starting December 4th, our new software will require all riders to pay for their trip before boarding. If you are unable to pay at the time of travel, the system will prevent the ride from being booked. Please make sure to plan ahead and have your payment ready!
2. No More Punch Cards—Switch to Ride Credits
We will no longer be selling punch cards at ATC. However, if you have existing punch cards, don’t worry—you can convert them into ride credits! Simply bring your punch cards to the Alma Transit Center or ask your driver for assistance in converting them to credits on your account.
3. New “AlmaTransit” App
We’re introducing a brand-new app, “AlmaTransit,” available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple Store. This app allows you to book and cancel rides, as well as make payments using a linked credit card. The app is entirely optional—you can still book rides by calling our dispatch center and pay in cash with our drivers or at the Transit Center.
4. Keep Your Contact Info Updated
To improve our service, we are now requesting all rider accounts to have a valid phone number. Our new system will send you a text or call to notify you when the bus is 15 minutes away and when it arrives at your pickup location. This feature is especially helpful during the cold winter months, so you’ll know exactly when to expect your ride without having to wait outside in the cold.
We realize that not all our customers have a valid phone number. If you do, please update your account with a phone number to enjoy this new feature.
5. Email Address for Invoices
To make it easier for you to keep track of your rides, we will be sending invoices and receipts to your provided email address. If you haven’t already, please make sure to update your account with a valid email address.
We’re Here to Help!
We are excited about these changes and believe they will make your experience with Alma Transit Center more convenient and efficient. If you have any questions or need assistance, our Director of Transportation is here to help! Please contact us at 989-463-9570.
